John Hosea Kahoalii, 77, of Keaau, Hawaii, a retired crane operator for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co., died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Kau, Hawai. He is survived by wife Clara; sons John H. "Boy" Jr., Joel "Alani," Jamie "Braddah" and Jonathan "Fat Man" Kahoalii, John R. "Small Man" Kahoalii-Nobriga, Jerod and Jasen "Fluff" Kahoalii-Antonio, Jerome "Tabu" Kahoalii-Heath and Kris Medeiros; hanai son Patrick Close; daughter Joanna Ford; brothers Luther Kahoalii and Joseph, Henry and Clarence Kahananui; sisters Hattie Feltman and Virgie Shim; 47 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday at Kona Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Kailua-Kona. Services: 10:30 a..m Burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park. Casual attire.
