Mario Tapawan Contemprato, 68, of Honolulu, a Navy veteran, died. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by wife Elena; sons Mario C. and Elmar; daughter Leilani; brothers Albert, Robert, Diomedes, Jaime, Nilo and Noel; sisters Melinda Ballar, Nanette Contemprato, Celia Bituen and Ema Nocon; and five grandchildren. Visitation: 10 a.m. Sunday at Borthwick Mortuary. Services: 11 a.m. Burial: 10 a.m. Sept. 24 at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
