MARY LOU (HABON) CHRISTENSON
MARY LOU (HABON) CHRISTENSON Mary Lou Christenson passed away on September 13, 2015, at the age of 52. Born August 12, 1963 in Kamalo, Molokai to Silverio and Elsie (Luuloa) Habon, she grew up in a large, loving family on Molokai then moved to Honolulu to complete her education. There she met Phil Christenson, and they married on May 3, 1990. Career changes took them to Poipu, HI, Olympia, WA, Selah, WA, and finally back to Olympia. She worked for US Bank for 16 years. Preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lou is survived by her husband Phil, her beloved son Cory, father-in-law Leroy "Gus" Christenson, the extensive Habon ohana in Hawaii, many nieces and nephews and a huge network of friends. An island girl at heart, Mary Lou came to love the natural beauty of her adopted state and enjoyed gardening, fishing, watching eagles and whales in Eld Inlet, and viewing sunrises and moon rises over Mt. Rainier. But her biggest passion was spending time with family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held at the family's Olympia home on Sunday, September 27, 2-4pm, with a second memorial October 17 on Molokai. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Orca Network or a charity of your choice. Everyone who met Mary Lou immediately recognized the kindness and giving spirit within her; we can all honor her memory with random acts of kindness.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
