Ted Tetsuji Umetsu, 91, of Honolulu, a retired federal and state employee; an Army veteran who served with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, 522nd Field Artillery Battalion, Battery B; and a recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal and French Legion of Honor Medal, died in St. Francis Hospice. He was born in Keahua, Maui. He is survived by sons Glenn and Dale, daughter Jayne Tolan, five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Private services.
