William Sergio "Bill" Lato, 82, of Hilo, a mason foreman for Isemoto Contracting and Hirano Brothers, and a Navy veteran who served in the Korean War, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Pepeekeo, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Felipa; daughters Valerie Sue Carron, JaniceFay and Charlene Villanueva, Lorri Lum, and Claudia and Doreen Lato; sons Bojay and Nelson; brothers Julio, Felipe, Joseph "Chuchu" and Frank Resureccion; sisters Dorothy Pacheco, Bernice Marrifield, Rosalind Ellul and Jane Medeiros; 32 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 6 p.m. Thursday at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Service: 7 p.m. Additional visitation: 9 a.m. Friday at the mortuary. Service: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
