James Simi Niumatalolo, 57, of Laie, a retired Army lieutenant colonel, died in Laie. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son David; daughter Chelsea Wheeler; father Simi; brothers Kenneth and Steve; sisters Sonja Fitisimanu, Janice Manoa, Molly and Raelene; and two grandchildren.
