Charles V. Sylvester, 86, of Kapolei, a retired Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard supervisor, an Army veteran who served in the Korean War and a Civil Air Patrol lieutenant colonel, died in Kapolei. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by brothers Manuel R. and Philip T. "P.T."; and sisters Angela V. McKee, Louise C. Burns, Veronica M. Alameida, Bernadette C. Griffin, Paulette R. Sylvester and Gloria A. Murray. Visitation: 10:30 a.m. Jan. 11 at Star of the Sea. Mass: 11:30 a.m. Aloha attire. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to Institute for Human Services.
