Charlotte P. Mercado, 81, of Pahoa, Hawaii, a homemaker, died in Life Care Center of Hilo. She was born in Pepeekeo, Hawaii. She is survived by son Greg "Kelly" Rapoza; daughters Marcia R. Doctor, Renee R. Alvarez and Kathy R. Askew; hanai daughter Bernie Pacheco; brothers Douglas and Clayton Gomes; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. Jan. 12 at Dodo Mortuary. Services: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
