He campaigned for City Council, District 1 in 2012 as the youngest candidate at 18 years old, making national news. He was employed at Maui Divers and Estee Lauder and was a member of Street Punishers Motorcycle Club. He is survived by parents, Efrain & Venus de la Cruz; brother, Ethan de la Cruz; sisters, Calista Smith, Miranda Scantlin, Sarah de la Cruz, Olivia de la Cruz; paternal grandmother, Aurea de la Cruz; maternal grandparents, Max & Donna Recod. Visitation 9:00 a.m., Saturday (Jan. 9) at Friendship Baptist Church (91-1130 Renton Rd., Ewa Beach). Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Burial 2:30 p.m. at Mililani Memorial Park. Casual/ Aloha attire.
