FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Francisco (Frank) Ogo Mendiola Borja
FRANCISCO (FRANK) OGO MENDIOLA BORJA Francisco (Frank) Ogo Mendiola Borja of Honolulu, Hawaii passed peacefully at home on Thanksgiving Day (November 26, 2015). He was lovingly cared for by his family while battling his illness. Frank was born in Merizo, Guam on November 23, 1937. He was predeceased by his parents, Juan Mendiola Borja and Maria Tenorio Ogo, as well as his older and only brother Jesus Borja. Frank is survived by his wife, Hilda Herrera Borja, his twin sons Gil and John Borja, daughter-in-law Donna Felixberto Borja, as well as several in-laws and relatives on Oahu, Hawaii, Guam and the Mainland USA. We will always remember Frank as a proud, tough, strong and determined Chamorro with the softest heart. As an orphan, Frank was a self-made man of sorts who basically matured as a hard-working, self-reliant individual. A giver of his time and resources --- almost to a fault--- he never bragged about his Good Samaritan gestures. To him, service to others is second-nature and he did not make a big deal about it. His mantra had been: "You're happy; am happy. Glad I could help". A well-spoken and proud Sailor and Vietnam Era Veteran, he retired as a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy and subsequently worked as a Guard Officer for the Naval Station, Pearl Harbor Hawaii. A memorial service will be held on 15 January 2016 (Friday) @ 5:30 pm at Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary (Mauka Chapel), Ka Uka Boulevard, Waipahu Hawaii 96797. Inurnment of Frank's cremains will be held on 19 January 2016 (Tuesday) @ 9:30 am at the National Cemetery of the Pacific - Punchbowl. Burial at Sea (spreading part of Franks' ashes at sea, per his wishes (Date to be determined).

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
