MENILLIO MEL BELLO Age 80, passed away December 16, 2015 in California. Born and raised in Waipahu, Hawaii, to Mariano and Modesta Bello, he had 5 brothers and 3 sisters. At Waipahu High, he met some of his closest lifelong friends, including his dear wife, May. Mel went to the Univ. of Notre Dame and received his BS in Chemical Engineering in 1957 & MS in Mechanical Engineering in 1960. Mel worked as an aerospace engineer in Southern California mostly at Aerospace Corporation (50 years), serving as a Group Director and foremost Industry Expert in Heat Transfer. Mel was truly one-of-a-kind, sharp and quick-witted, a great man who enjoyed funny stories and kidding around, and was always reliable, responsible, and generous. Wonderful memories of him will be fondly cherished - he will be forever loved. He is survived by wife, May Bello; children, Marguerite, Maureen (Wink), Mary (Kenny), Mark (Jenn), Melissa (Mike); grand- children, Lauren, Kyle, Macy, Noah, Michelle, Abby, Jacob, Sarah. Visitation 10:00 a.m., Thursday (Jan. 14) at Resurrection of the Lord Church (94-1260 Lumikula St., Waipahu). Mass 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow 12:30 p.m. at Mililani Memorial Park.
