Dec. 9, 2015 Wilfred T. "Willie" Mattos, 88, of Honolulu, a retired electronic gyro technician at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Shop 51 and an Army tech 5 who served in World War II, died in Honolulu. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Louise M.; son Gordon W.; daughters Gwendolyn V. "Gwen" Thornley and Lurline M. "Lur" Alley; brother Manuel Jr.; sisters Joan "Aileen" Kaaiai, Theresa Hernandez and Veronica Sabala; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 10 a.m. Jan. 15 at Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Mass: 11 a.m. Burial: 2 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe. Aloha attire. Condolences: diamondheadmortuary.net.
