79David A. Benevides, also known as "Dave" and "Bene," 67, of Keaau, Hawaii, a self-employed contractor for the Hawaii Tribune-Herald and a coach for the Boyz II Men Softball Team, died at home. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by companion Lyla Kauwe-Vogeler; mother Rose M. Ciaramitaro; sons Morgan and David Benevides, Ivan Kauwe and Thomas and Kalai Vogeler; hanai son Ryan Grace; brothers Delbert and Desmond; sister Darla Lovell; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Jan. 23 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Services: 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire.
