Bernard Benedict Vasquez, 81, of Kaneohe, a retired Hawaiian Dredging grade checker foreman and Sandwich Isle Construction superintendent, died. He was born in Waimea, Kauai. He is survived by wife Frances; sons Ronald and Robin Kim, and Freddie Yadao; daughters Lori Torres, Rene Kimura, Rhonda Vargas and Cheryl Brown; stepmother Esquiela; brothers Thomas Baldovino, Robert Baldonado, Eugene G. and Donicio G. Quison, Anthony Florendo, Marcelo and Clyde Mandaquit, and Patrick, Rodney, Dexter, Jonathan, Vaughn and Vincent Vasquez; sisters Pamela Camello, Carmelyn Nagamine, Sylvia Cariaga, Phyllis Malasig and Augustina Mercado; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. Jan. 22 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 48-422 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe. Mass: 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe.
