Lawrence Chester Carter Sr., 62, of Hilo, a retired plumber for Keith Shigehara Plumbing and an Army veteran, died at home. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Debbie; sons Jonathan, Lawrence C. Jr. and Gene; daughters Patricia Ugalde, Edith Carter and Clarice Crivello; mother Mary Eileen M. Na'ope-Crum; brothers Ralph Jr., Calavin "Fatman" Sr. and Francis "Pocho" Crum, and Cedric A. Kailikini and Joseph P. Kaina Sr.; and eight grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. Feb. 5 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Services: 6 p.m. Additional visitation: 9 a.m. Feb. 6 at the mortuary. Services: 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire.
