Larry Kamaka, also known as "The Maile King" and "Dewey," 67, of Kurtistown, Hawaii, an equipment operator for the Hawaii County Puna Roads Division, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by wife Dee; son Sonny; hanai daughters Megan Walls and Jurney Kamaka; hanai son Kyle Walls; sisters Shirley Gomes, Kelly Deguchi, Carol K. Milolii and Vanda Kaholo; and 10 grandchildren. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Feb. 20 at Onekahakaha Beach Park Pavilions 2 and 3. Casual attire.
