JAMES SEI HAMANA James Sei Hamana, beloved husband, devoted father, and patriotic soldier, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was eighty-seven years old. He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Bernice Emiko (Maruyama) Hamana and four sons and their families: Bruce Seiichi, his wife Yoko, and children Erika and Kevin (Kyoto, Japan); Randal Seiji Hamana, his wife Terry, and son Christian James (Honolulu, Hawaii); Carlton Seizo Hamana, his wife Severita (Salinas), and son Justin Neel (Orlando, FL); and Kerry Seishi Hamana, his wife Nida Malabanan, and children Kasey, Ryan, and Jordan (Oakland). One of eleven children, he leaves behind four sisters. In Hawaii, Yvonne Muramoto, Ellie (Thomas) Komori, Shirley Ako and Myrna (Robert) Araki. James Hamana was born in Heeia (the old fish camp), Kaneohe, Hawaii, on October 9, 1928 to Hatsuzuchi & Kana Hamana. He graduated from Benjamin Parker High School. Jim's ashes will be interned at the Kaneohe Veteran's Cemetery on Tuesday, February 16th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made in his name to the American Cancer Society (earmarked for bladder cancer research).
