James Ichiro Wakafuji, 83, of Aiea, a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel, former Ho'opono director of blind services and former president of Lanakila Rehabilitation Center, died at home. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Betty T.; son James M.; daughters Karen Velador and Kelly K. Tobita; sisters Edith H. Tanaka, Mildred M. Sasahara, Janet K. Kimura and Sharon K. Wakafuji; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Service: 3 p.m. Casual attire. No flowers.
