FLORENCE KELLEY
FLORENCE KELLEY Florence Kelley of Kaneohe passed away February 17th following a severe stroke. Mrs. Kelley may be remembered from her activities over the years in many organizations dedicated to Hawaii, women, and improving interfaith relations. Additionally, she sang in several choruses during her many years in Hawaii. Mrs. Kelley loved Hawaii, the culture, and the people here. For many years, she was a docent at the 'Iolani Palace and Washington Place, where her love of Queen Liliuokalani was said to shine through her smile. One of the joys of her life was to be the wife of the late Captain Larry Kelley, both in his Navy days, and later with Seaflite and American Hawaii Cruises' SS Independence. She was a gracious hostess and proud Navy wife. But the biggest part of her life was being a life-long member of the Baha'i Faith, and being deeply involved in its enrichment and expansion throughout the world. Florence Kelley is survived by her son, sister, two nephews and a niece, and their spouses and children. Funeral services will be held at the Baha'i National Center, 3264 Allan Place in Nuuanu on February 23rd at 11:00 with a reception to follow. There will be a very brief grave-side service when she is buried at 2:00 pm in Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery in Kaneohe.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
