RICO, JAMES CHRISTIAN (BUCHANAN) James Christian Rico, born March 11, 1990 died February 11, 2016. James (Jay) was the son of Antonio Rico of Los Angeles, CA and Sheila Locke Rico of Fayetteville, TN. In addition to his parents he is survived by sisters Alicia and Isabel and brother Miguel. Also surviving are his great grand- mother Gregoria De La Fuente, and his grandparents William and Toni Locke of Fayetteville and Ricardo and Nelis Rico of Los Angeles, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his beloved Sarah Palaez and his Oahu ohana Liesha Bento, Moses Chang- Nuusolia, Jarred Mckee, Edgar DeLeon, and Niki Pestel. Jay graduated from Aiea High School in 2008, where he shined in academics as well as in basketball and football. He was to graduate college in May with a bachelor's degree in business. Jay was an outgoing, loving, generous, and compassionate young man whose spirit touched everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by his family and his friends. A Life Celebration Service will be held, Saturday, March 19th, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the memorial fund that will benefit his future Na Ali'i basketball brothers.
