78Esteban R. "Steve" Recel, 83, of Ewa Beach, a retired civil engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Shafter and a former Carpenters Union employee, died in Honolulu. He was born in Santa Catalina, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He is survived by wife Visitacion "Vi"; sons Randolfo and Esteban Jr.; daughters Edna Dawa, Mary Tess Gutierrez, Eileen Santos, May Chan, Esvinn Stansbury and Leilani Recel; brothers Gaspar Jr. and Rolando; sisters Adelina Pelayo, Teresita Buan and Eufemia Rualizo; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
