81Alice Pua "Poochie" Tavares, 60, of Hilo, a homemaker, died in Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Hilo. She is survived by son Dennis Jr.; daughters Puamaeole Anderson, Viane Tavares, Carrie Hoopii and Leiala-Pua Hoopii-Aloy; father Rupert Tripp Sr.; brother Rupert "Bull" Tripp; sisters Nalani Longakit, Bridget W. Tripp, Bernadine K. Garcia, Wendy Waipa, Janin Iopa-Tripp and Darlene Casuga; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Visitation: 5 p.m. March 3 at New Hope Hilo Church. Wake service: 7 p.m. Additional visitation: 9 a.m. March 4 at the church. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Burial: 1 p.m. at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua section. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
