Thelma Lilinoe Yee Sun "Amoe" Calles, 87, of Hilo, a retired Hawaiian Telephone Co. switchboard operator, died at home. She was born in Hilo. She is survived by husband Kahoalii-O-Kalani; sons Zachary, Elgin and Les; daughters Gwen Tirrell, Faith Paulo, Greycelyn Maluo and Tweetie Smith; brother Tom Poy; sister Elsie L. Brothers; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. March 2 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service: 6 p.m. Additional visitation: 9 a.m. March 3 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hilo, Hawaii Stake Center. Service: 11 a.m. Burial at Mauna Kea Memorial Park, Kaieie Homestead Road, Papaikou. Aloha attire on March 2. "Sunday best" attire on March 3.
