Sidney Joseph Townsley, 91, of Honolulu, a retired University of Hawaii professor, Catholic deacon and a Navy veteran who served in World War II, died at home. He was born in Colorado Springs. He is survived by sons Chris and John; daughters Mary Townsley-Ross, Margaret Stoker and Lisa Townsley; and a grandchild. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. March 11 at St. Pius X Church, Manoa. Eulogy: 10:30 a.m. Mass: 11 a.m. Private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to the Sidney Townsley Scholarship Endowment at University of Hawaii Foundation.
