69Donald Kaipo Poepoe Sr., 69, of Makawao, Maui, a paniolo, retiree from Local 3 of the Operating Engineers and school security officer at Kalama Intermediate and King Kekaulike High schools, died in Maui Memorial Hospital. He was born in Opihikao, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Violet, sons Donald K. Poepoe Jr. and Daniel K. McKeague, daughters Dolly L. Poepoe and Denise H. Oguma, stepmother Jean, brother Robert Makuakane, sisters Shirley Kepani and Kathleen Lambert, and five grandchildren. Celebration of life: 5-10 p.m. March 18 at Norman's Mortuary.
