LESIA VENIALE PEDRO
$nameLESIA VENIALE PEDRO Lesia Veniale Pedro passed away peacefully in the presence of her family at the golden age of 90 on March 3, 2016, in Wahiawa, Hawai'i. Born on June 11, 1925, to Veniale and Lesia (nee Heo) Poasa, Lesia was raised in the islands of Fakaofo, Tokelau and Papua, New Guinea. She was treasured as the one and only sister by her seven (7) brothers who preceded her in death; Paleti, Anikesi, Uili, Isa'ako, Hanesi, Muti and Melagitone. She was a graduate of the Papauta Girls School in Apia, Samoa. Wife of the late Paulo Pedro Sr., Lesia is survived by her children Sania Fa'amaile Betty (Warren) Ickes, Paul "Chu" (Sialuga) Pedro Jr., Denny Paul (Darlene) Pedro, Johnathan Paul (Elisapeta) Pedro, Patrick Paul (Angela) Pedro and Bonnie Lesia (Mahelino) Patelesio; grandchildren Warren Lee Ickes II, Te-Hina o Te-Moana Ickes, Isaac Hans Kenneth Ickes, Te-Kie Angela Pedro VanEpps, Denielle Marie Pedro, Zachariah "Zacky" Tiger Pedro, Giovanni Paul Pedro, Karla Catalina Pedro, Mariana Lesia Pedro, Paulo Charles Chu Pedro; great-grandchildren Anela Ka'i'ini Ickes, Tuiteavaika Ickes, Elijah Te Taki Poasa Ickes, Rheylie Kealohilani Arcano Bennie, Mila Rose Arcano-Ickes, and James Tekaumanaotetaiatu Baniaga, Jr. Lesia loved her Tokelau culture, music and dance, but most of all her family and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her love and faith was the foundation upon which she raised her family and served her community. She was known as a Prayer Warrior and faithful servant of God. Respected and beloved elder of the international Tokelau community, Fatupaepae of Afeke, cultural advisor and elder to the Te Taki Organization, beloved Grandma to the Lumanaki Tokelau School, and member of the Wahiawa United Methodist Church, Lesia was a beacon of light, love and kindness to thousands. In celebration of Lesia's life, a memorial service is scheduled for March 19, 2016 9:45 AM at the Wahiawa United Methodist Church on 1445 California Ave., Wahiawa HI 96786, with public viewing beginning at 9:00 AM. Lesia will be laid to rest at 1:30 PM at Mililani Cemetery. All are welcome to join in remembrance.
