Victoria Kam Hau Lobo (nee Leong)
VICTORIA KAM HAU LOBO (NEE LEONG) Victoria Kam Hau Lobo (nee Leong) of Albany passed away on February 9, 2016 at Albany Medical Center at the age of 73. She is survived by her sons Stephen and Michael (wife Valerie); grand- daughters Mikayla and Gabrielle; sister Winifred Au; brother Arnold Leong; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo. She was born on Kauai, Hawaii, to Tai Hing and Lo Sun Leong. She earned a bachelors degree in education at the University of Hawaii and masters degree in education at Indiana University, where she met her husband, Angelo Lobo. She worked briefly as a schoolteacher in Uganda and New York, following the avocation of her mother, until leaving the workforce to devote her time and energy to raise her two sons. Vicky later worked for a number of years at Albany Savings Bank and the Center for Disability Services until her retirement. Vicky was an avid enthusiast of the performing arts, a foodie (well before the term was popularized) a world traveler and a prodigious gardener, cultivating a huge variety of flowers, plants, fruits and vegetables. An informal memorial gathering is planned for Sunday, April 3rd, starting at 11:00am at the Royal Garden Chinese Restaurant in the Ala Moana Hotel at 410 Atkinson Dr. in Honolulu.
