79Richard John "Dick" Gooch, 84, of Mudgeeraba, Queensland, Australia, a retired director of sport for Pan American World Airways and founder of the Pan Am Clipper Cup Yacht Series, died in Australia. He was born in Sydney. He is survived by wife Barbara, son David, daughters Debbie Henry and Mandy Sutton, and eight grandchildren. Scattering of ashes: 3 p.m. July 3 at Kaneohe Bay. Casual attire.
