ALVIN Y. S. ZANE Alvin Y. S. Zane 82, of Honolulu, died March 13, 2016 at Kaiser Foundation Hospital. He was born in Honolulu. President of Alvin Zane & Associates Inc., was a consulting structural engineering firm that had extensive experience in the structural design of buildings, ordnance facilities, pier and waterfront structures, bridges flood control structures, and wastewater treatment facilities. In the past the firm Has designed as prime and as well as sub consultant a vast number projects for NAVFACENGCOM, PACDIV and the U.S. Army Engineer District, Honolulu. He was a member of the Windward Rotary Club. He is survived by wife, Mayette Zane; daughters, Kim (Mark) Sugino, Kareece Zane; son, Darryl ( Jeremy) M. F. Zane; grandchildren Kathryn, Amanda, Christopher and Allison Sugino, Jadynne and Zoe Zane, great grandson, Korben Doughty. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary: service at 11 a.m.. Private burial at National Memorial Cemetery Of the Pacific.
