Lyle Earl Hood, 83, of Hawi, Hawaii, a retired mechanical engineer for C. Brewer & Co. and Bumble Bee Seafoods, and a Coast Guard veteran, died in Kohala Hospital. He was born in Paia, Maui. He is survived by wife Eileen, son Steven, brother Dale, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. April 30 at Kalahikiola Congregational Church, Kapaau. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawi County Cemetery.
