CANDACE DAWN FENANDERCANDACE DAWN FENANDER Candace passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of Friday, April 22nd due to end stage cancer. She was born September 23rd 1949 in Honolulu. During the last four years after being diagnosed, she enjoyed a productive and fulfilling life, including engaging in her art, her gardening, going on trips like this past March visiting friends in Lake Tahoe to ski and party. She graduated from the University of Hawaii with advanced degrees in physics, biophysics and art. Candace was an active member in Pastel Artists of Hawaii, Hawaii Watercolor Society, Association of Hawaii Artists, and Windward Wanderers where she selflessly contributed her talents as a website developer for these organizations. Though retired for 16 years from employment as a commercial artist, she was active as a fine artist with many commendations and awards for her work. During these last years, she learned to play the piano with "Dawn" from "Pride and Prejudice" as one of her favorite pieces. Candace is survived by her husband, Ken, her mother Edith Ishibashi (99 years young), her brother Dana Ishibashi, her two sisters Robin and Fredina Ishibashi, and 4 nephews' and 2 nieces. The family will be having a private celebration of her life in the near future. In lieu of flowers or donations to the family, please make a donation to Hospice Hawaii in her name as they provided so much support in her final days.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
