LUCIO “LARRY” FARINASLUCIO "LARRY" FARINAS Dec 13, 1922 - Mar 26, 2016 LARRY, 93, passed away at home while lovingly surrounded by his family in Honolulu, HI. He was born in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He is proudly recognized as a WWII FIL-AM Veteran. In 1945 his Guerrilla unit was placed under command of the US Sixth Army. Postwar, he embarked to Hawaii via the "SAKADAS'46" wave of imported sugar plantation laborers. This paved the way for other siblings to come to Honolulu. Quickly he became a self-made business man as owner of Standard Cleaners in Kalihi, the First Filipino proprietor of a laundry & dry cleaning company. He often rejoiced of his ballroom dancing days; up until the end he'd offer a "Cha-Cha-Cha" and a chuckle. He is survived by his wife, Felicidad "Fely" Cabanilla; son, Lawrence (Celeste Nakamoto); daughter, Lori-Ann (Laura Stickle). Grandchildren: Reece, Beau and Mia. Celebration of Life on FRI, May 13: Borthwick Mortuary Maunakea Chapel, 5:30pm Visitation, 6:30pm Wake Services. SAT, May 14: St John the Baptist Church, Kalihi, 9am Visitation, 10am Mass; 1pm Burial at Valley of the Temples.
