Jenabe Esslemont Caldwell, 89, of Wailuku, a Navy veteran and a retired founder and owner of a king crab and salmon cannery, died in Tripler Army Medical Center. He was born in Montana. He is survived by wife Motoko; sons Daniel, David and Mark; daughters Layli Nottingham, Zarrin Caldwell, Manijih Baxter, Rachael Power and Naomi Posner; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. May 13 at Maui Veterans Cemetery pavilion, Makawao. Burial to follow. Condolences: ballardfamily mortuaries.com.
