Carlos Bergado Ellazar, 85, of Keaau, Hawaii, a retired Puna Sugar core sampler operator and an independent papaya farmer, died in Life Care Center of Hilo. He was born in Urdeneta, Pangasinan, Philippines. He is survived by wife Natividad; sons Marcos, Marcial, Romulo and Igmedio; daughter Emerita "Emmy" Ellazar-Hernandez; brothers Martin and Gregorio; sisters Luisa Ramos, Teresita Pascual and Anita Calamaza; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. May 20 at Dodo Mortuary. Services: 6 p.m. Additional visitation: 8 a.m. May 21 at the mortuary. Services: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire.
