Manuel "Manny" Sylva, 83, of Oregon City, Ore., an Army veteran, died in Oregon City. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Rosalie; son Anthony Laul; daughter Elizabeth Newton; sisters Mary Sylva, Katherine Valdez and Janice Yoneda; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation: 10 a.m. May 28 at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Services: 11 a.m. Aloha attire. No flowers.
