FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Elizabeth Potter Ripperton
$nameELIZABETH POTTER RIPPERTON FORT WORTH -- Elizabeth Potter Ripperton, 86, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, in Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 3, at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, 2177 Puowaina Drive, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813. Betty always gave her birthdate as the 1st, 13, 30. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Colin and Nora Bush Potter whose families had immigrated from Scotland to the Hawaiian Islands. She lived and grew up on the idyllic grounds of Foster Botanical Gardens. There was hardly a plant that Betty could not identify by its scientific name due to her father's tutelage. Who knew that Texas bluebonnets are really "lupinus texensis"? Betty spent almost her whole life in Honolulu attending both Punahou School and graduating from Roosevelt High School. She married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Ripperton, in 1950. Together they lovingly raised two sons, John and Scott Ripperton. Betty moved to Fort Worth, Texas, in 2007 to be closer to her son John and daughter-in-law Mary who she often introduced as her daughter. Betty was a strong and determined woman who fought through many challenges to live a very productive life. She was predeceased by her husband in 1983. She fiercely loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She had resided in Fort Worth at Brookdale Ridgmar Senior Living and more recently at Senior Care of Stonegate. She made many new friends and cared for them greatly. She was very appreciative of the wonderful care she received at both facilities. Survivors: Son, John Ripperton and wife, Mary, of Aledo, Texas; son, Scott Ripperton and wife, Marcille of Fox Island, Washington; grandchildren, Tracey Ford, Allen Ford, Kathleen Pritchett-Corning, Adam Rogers; and six great- grandchildren.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
