79Irene Tomie Matsuura, 73, of Hilo, a retired secretary to the Dean of Student Services at the University of Hawaii at Hilo and a kumu for Lei Hulu of Hilo, died in Pohai Malama. She was born in Olaa, Hawaii. She is survived by husband Clarence, daughters Marcia Matsuura and Patty Bedoya, son Kelly, brothers Gilbert and Edward Uyeda, hanai sisters Carol Halstead and Carlene Nakashima, and three grandchildren. Private services. No flowers. No monetary offerings.
