NORMA “HALE” LOPES
NORMA HALE LOPES June 13, 1927 - April 14, 2016 Norma "Hale" Lopes, 88, of Redmond, WA formerly of Honolulu, passed away in Las Vegas, NV. She was born in Waimea, Hawaii and raised in Honolulu. She was the wife of the late Clarence Lopes and the daughter of the late John and May Mersberg. Hale was employed by several entities of the U.S. Federal Government i.e., US Weather Service in Honolulu, a US Management Program out of Washington DC as a recruiter for students to seek positions with the U.S. government. She took another position in 1976 in Seattle WA. and later retired from civil service. After retiring from civil service she became a Realtor with Century 21 and Coldwell Banker in Bellevue, WA. Her passion was traveling the world and creating her arts and crafts. She is survived by her son Dennis Lopes of Las Vegas, NV, daughters Marvalee Bustillos of San Leandro, CA., Jennifer Perreira of Maui, and Maria Lopes of San Francisco, CA.; nine grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren and four great- great-grandchildren. Hale is also survived by her sisters, Kiyo Ota of Hilo, Lani Dias of Honolulu and brother Baird Mersberg of Kauai and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside prayers and Interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 13, 2016. The family requests no flowers.
