$nameMAY EVELYN KUIKALONO FREETH BORTHWICK AUGUST 14, 1928 - APRIL 15, 2016 May Freeth Borthwick passed away on April 15, 2016 in Honolulu Hawai'i. Born to Evelyn Kawahinemakai Clark Freeth and William Douglas Freeth in Halawa Valley Moloka'i on August 14, 1928. She is survived by her husband William Mendel Borthwick, sons, Blair and Douglas Borthwick and daughter Karen Schenk, 7 granddaughters, and 7 great- grandchildren. May was a graduate of Roosevelt High School class of 1946 and attended University of Hawai'i at Manoa where she was an all star swimmer under coach Sakamoto. A hula dancer since the age of two; May danced and taught at the Betty Lei Hula Shop in Waikiki. May was a pa'u rider and rode in more than 14 Kamehameha Day Parades and Aloha Week Parades. She loved golf and was a Life Master of Duplicate Bridge. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday June 16, 2016 from 4:00PM-6:00PM at O'ahu Country Club (150 Country Club Road Honolulu Hawai'i 96817).
