Louis M. "Laloy" Calimpong, 82, of Ewa Beach, an Army veteran who served in the Korean War, an Air Force Reserve veteran, and a retired Local 745 Union carpenter, died in Honolulu. He was born in Aiea. He is survived by wife Mercedes; son Robert; daughters Stephanie Calimpong, Vera Alvarez, Rosemary Verano, Lois Gongob, and Patricia and Karen Kaopuiki; sister Vicenta Popa; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Visitation: 6 p.m. June 16 at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Services: 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation: 9 a.m. June 17 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass: 10 a.m. Committal services: 1 p.m. at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl.
