KRISTI Y. TAKANISHI
KRISTI Y. TAKANISHI Kristi Y. Takanishi, age 19, of Honolulu, HI, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2016 at The Queen's Medical Center. Born in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of proud parents Danny M. and Gayle C.I. Takanishi, Jr., of Honolulu. After spending her early years in Chicago, she moved back to Honolulu with her family and graduated as the top valedictorian of Kaiser High School's Class of 2015, also proudly earning an International Baccalaureate Program Diploma. Filled with infinite and boundless optimism and a zeal for life itself, she delighted in dancing ballet and contemporary dance. She loved the outdoors, and was an avid hiker who marveled at all of nature's beautiful and idyllic creations. She also treasured visiting new places, trying new and different things, and meeting new friends. She had just completed her freshman year at the University of Washington with plans to pursue her dream of becoming a physician one day, so that she could help others. She loved and cherished everyone, and everyone loved her, and her contagious laughter and smile, and her unconquerable spirit of humanism and altruism. We will all miss her dearly. She is survived by her loving parents, twin sister, Kiri K., younger sister, Kirsten H., and paternal grandmother, Florence T. Takanishi. There will be a private visitation at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, followed by a public memorial service at 6:00 p.m. at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Flowers welcome. Aloha attire.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
