74Derek Dwight Pacheco, 63, of Hilo, a retired assistant chief of police and Special Response Team commander for the Hawaii County Police Department, and a sports coach, died in Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by wife Sheri R.; sons Derek "Danny" Pacheco and Bobby Correa-Midel; daughters Sheral Correa-Pacheco, Charisse Correa, and Taryn and Erica Agmata; mother Irene Betty; sisters Arlene Gali and Donna Tanimura; and seven grandchildren. Private services.
