Samuel Shiro Takushi, 80, of Waipahu, an employee of Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Shop 64 and the state Department of Education, a baseball coach and a retired Army sergeant first class who served in the Vietnam War, died in Waipahu. He was born in Waipahu. He is survived by wife Margarete I.; sons Glen I., Edward T. and Steven M.; brother Kiyoshi; sisters Kimiko Kamisato, Yoshiko Kaneshiro and Lilly Tokuhara; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. July 6 at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Services: 10:30 a.m. Aloha or casual attire.
