77Hideo "Hide" Watanabe, 86, of Honolulu, retired owner of Varsity Texaco, died in Honolulu. He was born in Papaikou, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Mabel T.; daughters Gayle Yabuki and Cheryl Dayoan; brother Masaru "Cabby"; sisters Harumi Koga, Etsuko Horio and Eunice Hamamoto; and six grandchildren. Private services.
