Vernon L. Tavares, 54, of Honolulu, a Navy veteran, died at home. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by daughters Lesley, Amber and Cheyenne; father Gordon; mother Myrtle Moepono; brother Bruce; and sisters Katherine Kau, Candace Asis, and Valeri and Princess Tavares.
