JOBY SENNA NORTH
$nameJOBY SENNA NORTH Joby Senna North passed on to be with his mom Priscilla Oh Kee Cho, dad Herbert "Buster" Kuulei North and his son Herbert Buster in heaven on June 13, 2016. Joby was born at Queens Hospital in Honolulu on October 9, 1945. Joby grew up Kaneohe and played in the hills above Ka Hanahou Circle and the waters of Kaneohe Bay. Like his dad Joby loved the Bay, his boats and speed. Joby started his education at Mrs. Akina's Kindergarten school in Bingham Tract. He went on to Benjamin Parker School in Kaneohe, Waialae Elementary in Kaimuki and graduated from James B. Castle High School in Kaneohe 1963. He joined the Hawaii National Guard and did 6 months of active duty in Hawaii. He then moved to Lompoc, CA. and attended Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, CA. He returned to Hawaii and married his high school sweetheart Karen Young. They had three sons Scott William Kanani, Joby Senna Jr. and Herbert Buster. He moved to the Bay Area to live with our Mom and entered the trucking industry where he learned the many facets of the business. He longed for his Hawaii and decided to move home. He took over Paradise Trucking where he specialized in container hauling. During this time he discovered Henry Loui's and its "ohana". It was an instant and life long friendship when he and Anson Kaneshiro met. He fashioned himself as a Frank Sinatra "wanna be" and loved to sing Karaoke. He could play the piano by ear and had a repertoire of 6 - 7 songs. His favorite was Dahil Sa Iyo. He than joined Matson Terminals to run the Auto lot at Sand Island. He spent 15 great years making sure that Matson's auto customers received high quality service. Joby retired from Matson in 2009. He lived with and took care of our mom until we moved her to a nursing home. He then visited her every morning staying with her during the morning activities until she passed away in 2012. He has lived with his dog Precious Boy in his condo in Waikiki. He is survived by his two sons Scott William Kanani (wife Jodi), Joby Senna Jr. (wife Lokelani), Grandsons Scott Jr. (25 years) Joby Senna III (8 years) and granddaughter Shiloh Surell-North (4years), his brothers Gary (Buzzy) (wife Barbara), Herbert (Buster) (wife Raymi) and aunties Agnes (Bok Hee) Markwith, Gloria Jeanie (Hong Hee) Spencer and Evelyn Helmsley (Young Hee). Services will be held on July 12, 2016 at St. Clements Episcopal Church, 1515 Wilder Ave, Honolulu. Visitation 11:30am to - 12:00pm. Service 12:00pm to 1:30pm. The Celebration of Joby's Life will follow at Henry Loui's Restaurant, 2850 Paa St in Mapunapuna - 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
