KIT CARSON
KIT CARSON U.S. Navy Command Master Chief Petty Officer (ret) Kit Carson, of Aiea, passed on May 19, 2016 at the age of 74. Kit dedicated 34 years of service to the U.S. Navy and served in multiple conflicts around the world including Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq. Kit is survived by his twin sister & partner in mischief, Kathleen (Kathie) Rinko of Lake Suzy, Florida; daughters Johnette (Johnnie) Thompson of Pinole, California; Barbara (Bobbi) Canney Sherry of Ewa Plantation/Kailua, grand- daughter Jo-Ann Sherry Ortego of Kailua, great grandson Skye Nicholas Makana Ortego, preceded in death by great grandson Hunter James La'akea Ortego, and a beautiful, loving array of nieces, nephews, and fabulous friends. He will join the love of his life, partner, and confidant of 43 years, Dorothy (Dottie) Castillano Carson, daughter of Maximino & Petra Castillano of Ewa Plantation, who passed on October 23, 2008. A military ceremony with full honors will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl at 10:30 a.m., July 20, 2016. No flowers or monetary donations please.
