EDMUND LEE WOOLFORD Edmund Lee Woolford of Port Orchard, Washington, passed away on June 3, 2016 at Stafford at Belmont Care Home in Bremerton. He was born in Seattle at the Swedish Hospital on April 15, 1930, and when he was a teen-ager the family moved to Oahu because his father Howard Woolford got a position as plant and insect inspector at Honolulu Airport. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High and the University of Hawaii. He was a Hawaii resident until 2006 when the family decided to retire in the state of Washington in the town of Port Orchard. Edmund was a veteran of the Air Force where he served both in Libya and Scotland, and a member of the VFW. After leaving the military he went back to the University of Hawaii where he received his Master's Degree in education. He then taught at Radford High School in Aiea for well over 25 years. He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Ercell Woolford, his brother Walter of Olympia, and his son Stephen Scott. He is survived by his wife Carmen, son Douglas James of Hawaii Island, daughter Kathleen Lyden of CT, daughter Caroline Kelly of Port Orchard, 8 grand- children, and 4 great-grand- children. Interment graveside services will be held at the National Cemetery of the Pacific on August 19. 2016.
