Edward Kaohu Kalama
EDWARD KAOHU KALAMA Feb. 8, 1931 to July 17, 2016 Edward Kaohu Kalama of Pearl City, Oahu, passed away on July 17, 2016, at age 85. He was retired from the City and County of Honolulu, where he served for more than 20 years as a building inspector. He was also a U.S. Army veteran, retiring as a sergeant first class after 20 years of service. He served in the Vietnam War and was wounded in action in the Korean War, where he was awarded the U.S. military's Bronze Star for valor. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Loretta; daughters The Honorable Judge Ellen Kalama Clark, Lorilee (Terry) Kalama-Bartz, Keely (Mike) Kalama Lakey; son Edward (Andrea) Kalama Jr.; sisters Kealoha Kalama Cabral, Pearl Kaeo, Jackie Maynard, Rosella Kalama- Akiona; brother Vernon Kalama; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Visitation at Hawaiian Memorial Park at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 10, 2016. Service at 10:30 a.m. Burial at 1 p.m. Aloha attire. Flowers welcomed.
