She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Class of 1943. She was also longtime employee of Hawaii National Bank retiring as an Assistant Vice President. A superb cook, her potato buns were always a highly requested item at family gatherings. She was a member of the See Dai Doo Society and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. During her time at the bank & after her retirement, Mrs. Chang helped celebrate Chinese New Year for the past 35 years by decorating the Main Branch of Hawaii National Bank with narcissus plants that she grew along with a variety of artifacts she gathered over the years during her trips to China and from her friends. She loved teaching and sharing her knowledge of the Chinese culture & New Year traditions with students from schools across the Island of Oahu. Busloads of school children scheduled field trips a year in advance to see her display and to hear her presentation. An average of 3,500 children and adults would visit each year.
